FAQ
What is the minimum and maximum lease/rental term?
You can lease/rent for as little as three months, or up to 36 months for vehicles listed on our website. Subject only to vehicle selection and negotiation for requested vehicles.
Who pays the registration, compulsory TAC insurance, stamp duty on registration vehicle preparation including pre-delivery costs?
Netcar Motors Pty Ltd pays these costs.
Can I return the vehicle any time after three months?
Yes, after three months the vehicle can be returned without any penalty provided all lease payments have been made and a 7 day notice is required. Some vehicles may be excluded e.g., vans or utilities with special extras fitted. This would be agreed with us at the commencement of the agreement.
Can I purchase the car at the end of the agreement?
Yes you can. This should be negotiated before the initial agreement is signed. (subject to availabilty)
What happens at the end of the agreement?
Simply return the vehicle. The vehicle will be assessed and as long as there is no damage you will have no further responsibility subject only to any excess kilometre fees.
Can I transfer my agreement to another party?
Yes subject to Netcar Leasing approval/agreement by both parties.
Can I lease/rent a car on behalf of someone else?
Yes. It could be an employee or a family member. Note that the other person must be 25 years of age or over. Talk to us.
Can a company or business partnership enter into an agreement with you?
Yes, if the entity has an ABN and is registered for GST it may make the lease even more affordable by being eligible to reclaim the GST portion of the lease payment. Check with your tax advisor.
Can my employer pay my lease/rent payment?
Yes. A company car allowance is more common than you may think however there may be fringe benefit tax implications.
How do I make my payments?
Our preferred payment arrangement is by credit card for which you provide us with an authority. We will, in certain circumstances, consider payment on presentation of an invoice by us. This will be negotiated with you.
What insurance is required?
You are required to insure the vehicle with a reputable insurer under a motor vehicle comprehensive insurance policy during the term of the agreement. Netcar Motors Pty. Ltd/ Netcar Leasing should be noted on the policy as the registered owner of the vehicle.
Do you offer insurance cover?
We may be able to offer insurance at an additional monthly premium charge to you.
How many kilometeres can I travel?
Our agreement sets a monthly allowance of 1500 kilometres. Kilometres travelled in excess of that allowance are charged at an excess kilometre fee of 0.20 cents per kilometre calculated at the end of the agreement or when the vehicle is returned. We will negotiate a higher kilometre usage if you think you may travel more during any monthly period.
I have a poor credit history. Can I lease or rent?
In some circumstances having a lease like ours helps you rebuild your credit record. Proof of regular payments with us may help you re-establish your credit rating.
Can I move interstate?
Use of the vehicle is restricted to Victoria only. Our vehicle are not to be taken out of the state of Victoria without written consent by us prior.
Can other family members drive the car?
Yes, as long as they are licensed and acknowledged as a driver by your insurance company.
Is there any upfront payment?
Our standard lease/rental agreement requires the first payment to be made in advance and subscription fee at the time of delivery of the vehicle. If you have credit issues we may require a deposit to be held by us.
What about Ride Share, Food Delivery Drivers and Couriers?
These uses are strictly excluded under the standard agreement. However we are open to dicussion to negotiate pricing & kms under a speclal agreement.
